In order to be able to post "New Topics" and reply to existing topics, you must create a personal account and be logged into that account.

Registering for an account is a very quick process and you will be up and chatting in no time!

To Register An Account:

Step 1: In the menu located in the header of each Discussion Board web page, you will see items titled "Home", "Help", "Login", "Register", etc. Click on the Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to or Register button.



Step 2: On this new page, you will see a form where you can choose your username and enter you email address. Fill in the boxes with your information. Please make sure to enter a VALID email address as you will receive an account validation email containing your initial password needed to login to your account.

Step 3: Check the box to agree to the User Agreement.

Step 4: Click on the "Register" button at the bottom of the page.

Congratulations! You have now successfully registered your account. Now you need to login to your account.


To Login To Your Account:

Step 1: Check you email account you used when signing up for your account. You should receive an email which is entitled "Welcome To The New Jersey Macintosh Users Group Discussion Board". Open that email and it will contain your initial password.

Step 2: Click on the Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to or Login button located in the menu at the top of the NJMUG Discussion Board web page.

Step 3: On this new page, you will several options:

• Username - Enter the username you used to register your account
  Password - Type in your password (the one you received in the email)
  Logged in For - Choose how long you would like to stay logged in for.
  Forgot Password - If you cannot remember your password, click this button to have it resent to your email address.

Step 4: Once you have everything filled out, click the button in the form titled "Login".

Congratulations! You are now logged into your new account and are ready to participate in the NJMUG Discussion Board Community! Post questions, suggestions, interesting topics, or help out your fellow NJMUG members. Remember, the board is only as good as it contributors. Therefore your input is essential to making this board the best it can be.


How To Change Your Password and Update Your Profile:

Step 1 : If you would like to change your password you can click on the Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to or Profile button. Note: You must be logged into your account in order for this button to be visible.

Step 2: On this new page, click on the Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to or Modify button which is located to the right of your username.

Step 3: On the new page, you will be prompted to enter your password. Enter your password in the box provided (your current password ie: the one you received in the email). Click the "Confirm Password" button.

Step 4: On the next page you will have access to all your account settings and options. Note that the header is divided into 4 sections: Edit Profile, Contact Information, Options and PM Preferences. Make changes to whatever settings you wish and click on the "Change Profile" button.
