WWDC Review - Rock-It 3.0 - Anonymous Downloading - Digital Camera Sensors and ISO
June 2013 Meeting

Bruce Mittelman will be giving a run down of all the news and product information released at this month's Apple World Wide Developer's Conference (WWDC). Bruce will also be giving a demonstration of the new Rock-It 3.0 portable vibration speaker. The Rock-It 3.0 is a portable speaker system that turns any object into a speaker by merely attaching the Rock-It pod.

Next up, Jerry Gherardi and Angelo Caminiti return with another segment in their "Introduction to Digital Photography" series. This month they will be discussing "Sensor Size and ISO - How They Relate to Each Other".

Bob Helmond will show you how to setup the Transmission BitTorrent client to anonymously download books, movies, and music that are available in the public domain.

And finally Louis Perez returns with his on-going "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web" which presents the best and most interesting websites pertaining to a specific topic. This month's tour will focus on Home Theater systems and how to go about setting one up in your home.

Podcasts - Intro to Digital Photography - Macintosh Basics: Ports and Connectors

Unless you've been hiding under a rock the past few years, you've probably heard the term "podcast" before. A podcast is a digital media format that consists of episodes of audio or video that you can subscribe to, stream, and download to your computer or mobile device. The Apple iTunes Store puts hundreds of thousands of podcasts at your fingertips. But with so many choices, how do you determine which ones are the best? Luckily you don't have to as Bruce Mittelman will give a rundown of the best and most popular Mac and technology podcasts currently available today.

Angelo Caminiti and Jerry Gherardi will be giving an"Intro to Digital Photography" showing you how you can use the camera built-in to you iPhone or iPad or a simple point-and-shoot camera to get that perfect shot.

And Jerry Glacken will give another installment of his"Macintosh Basics" series which focuses on assorted topics that every Mac user needs to know. This month Jerry will be talking about "Ports and Connectors" - from audio, video, networking, USB, firewire and more.

Jailbreaking Your iPhone - Creating a Bootable USB Flash Drive - Mac Basics: Disk Utility

iPhone and iPad users have no doubt heard the term "jailbreaking" over the past few years. But what exactly does it mean and what does it take to jailbreak your iPhone? Bruce Mittelman will teach you everything you need to know about jailbreaking your iPhone and removing the Apple imposed limitations on the iOS operating system. From installing additional non-App Store applications, extensions, and themes, come see why jailbreaking will open up a whole new world for your iPhone.

Allan Warner will demonstrate how to create a bootable USB flash install drive for Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion as well as explain why you should create one and how it can serve as a valuable tool in your troubleshooting arsenal.

Bob Helmond will give a short presentation on interesting uses for your USB flash drive, including ways it can assist with troubleshooting your computer and application problems.

Louis Perez returns with his ever-popular "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web" which focuses on important and interesting Web sites pertaining to a specific topic. This month's tour takes a look at sites to help you "Pick the Perfect Tablet for You".

And Jerry Glacken will give another installment of "Macintosh Basics" which focuses on assorted topics that every Mac user needs to know. This month we'll focus on Apple's Disk Utility - what it is, how to use it to partition, format, and clone disks, as well as other tasks.

Ten One Design - WordFlex - VideoGet - Mac Basics: Spinning Beach Ball

This month, Jenny Coleman from Ten One Design will be demonstrating their complete line of products for the iPhone, iPod, iPad, iOS and Mac. With their line of pogo writing tools, cool iPhone and iPad cases, iPad stands, and game controllers, this Montclair, NJ design firm creates products to make your life awesome.

Scott Alenick will be showing the Wordflex Touch Dictionary app. Offering the first truly tactile, interactive reference for word lovers, the Wordflex Touch Dictionary is the next step in the evolution of the English dictionary+thesaurus.

Nick Barton will present VideoGet, the application that makes it easy to download videos from sites like YouTube and covert them into a variety of formats.

And finally, Jerry Glacken will give another installment of Macintosh basics, featuring an assortment of things that every Mac user needs to know. This month we'll be focusing on the "Spinning Beach Ball" - including what causes it, how to troubleshoot it, and what you can do to prevent it.

Finder and Mac Basics - Foldify - Waze - Home Theater Web Sites
February 2013 Meeting

This month, we're going back to the "basics" as Bruce Mittelman, Scott Alenick, and Jerry Glacken will be discussing the Finder, Mac OS X menu options, and other assorted things that every Macintosh user should know. You'll learn common Finder commands, how to move, copy, delete, duplicate, organize and get info on files as well as how to create aliases and archives, change views, set preferences and search for files. Youll also learn about the Macintosh directory structure, file menu items, tips and tricks for working faster and much much more. We'll turn you into a Finder guru. Even the seasoned Mac veterans are bound to learn some new things.

Bruce Mittelman will also give a demonstration of Foldify, the iPad App that enables you to create 3D figures, print them out and fold them from paper.

Next, Jerry Gherardi will give a demonstration of Waze, the community-based traffic and navigation app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Waze allows you to join other drivers in your area who share real-time traffic and road info, the best gas prices, and much more.

And finally, Louis Perez returns with another installment of his "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web" which presents a collection of informative and interesting Web sites related to a common topic. This month's "Tour" will focus on "Home Theater Basics, Setup and Examples".

iPad Mini - Creating Panoramic Videos Using Your iPhone

Come join us as NJMUG welcomes Micro Center Knowledge Advisor, Glenn Rollins, who will be giving a demonstration of the Apple iPad Mini as well as showing an interesting selection of the latest iPad accessories.

And to finish out the evening, Bruce Mittleman will present some of the newest and most interesting iOS Apps for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod. This month's apps include: Cycloramic and CamAround 360, two Apps that automatically rotate your iPhone while taking a panoramic video of your surroundings and Video2Pano, the App which allows you to share your video as a panoramic image.
